Once again we supported Friends of Anchors charity golf day on the 16th of June at Peterculter, and out of a field of 128 golfers, M+A’s MD Duncan Moir was the individual stableford champion!

Have a look at our team photo, which included: Laurence McLeod, Duncan Moir, Stuart Young (Dunecht Estates) and David Halliday (Halliday Fraser Munro).

About the event:

2017 is a particularly special year for Friends of ANCHOR as it marks 20 years since the charity began; a charity with a vision to help make cancer and haematology care in the North-east of Scotland the best it can be.

Friends of ANCHOR exists to serve all those affected by a cancer diagnosis in the region; to raise funds over and above what NHS Grampian can provide to bring the very best treatment, care and support for North-east patients.

As part of this milestone 20th anniversary year, the charity has launched its biggest fundraising appeal ever, ‘Dream Big’, by pledging £1 million to the University of Aberdeen’s ambitious £4.5m project to attract and recruit a world-class cancer research team to the North-east. This is a huge investment that will ultimately have a significant impact on the care, treatment and wellbeing provided to local cancer and haematology patients.

Every penny raised from the 15th year of the Gala Golf Event has gone directly to their Dream Big campaign, to see Aberdeen become a centre for ground-breaking cancer research.

The £1.2m refurbishment project modernised the building, which now has the latest state of the art equipment, with interactive walls and floors!
