McLeod+Aitken sign up with Jasmine to beat heartbreak forever.

Updated: Mar 21, 2019

We have joined Jasmine to end heartbreak forever, please have a read of the press release below.

An international construction cost consultancy with an Aberdeen head office has joined forces with a north-east communications company to support a national charity’s work to end heart disease.

McLeod+Aitken has signed up to Jasmine Limited’s documents solutions service which supports British Heart Foundation Scotland’s (BHF Scotland) work to tackle heart and circulatory diseases.

The firm, which was established in 1954, is the first to sign up to Jasmine’s new initiative which will see the company donate five percent of any new client’s office printing spend on a ‘cost per print’ basis to the charity.

Jasmine will install and maintain office printers and scanners at McLeod+Aitken’s offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Leeds.

It’s hoped Jasmine’s new partnership with BHF Scotland will raise significant funds for the charity, which is the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK.

Jasmine has been affected by the impact of cardiovascular disease which prompted the company to establish a link with the BHF Scotland earlier this year.

Keith Tait, a director of Printagraph before the company merged in to Jasmine passed away in 2012 following a heart attack. In 2017, Jasmine business consultant Chris McGeehan underwent triple bypass heart surgery after a GP health check identified he was at risk.

Sadly, Keith Adams, Jasmine’s production director, also passed away suddenly in June due to an undiagnosed heart condition.

Heart and circulatory disease causes more than a quarter (27 percent) of all deaths in Scotland, or more than 15,000 deaths per year. Every month 2,100 people will go to hospital due to a heart attack and 685,000 people are living with cardiovascular disease.

Malcolm McGee, account director for Jasmine, said:

“We’re very pleased to welcome McLeod+Aiken to our new campaign which supports BHF Scotland. For each new client we have pledged a percentage of print sales to the charity, whether from a single device or multiple copier machines across the UK. We believe each print will help make a difference to the BHF Scotland and as our clients use their office printers through the course of the working day, this will effectively raise funds to support the charity’s fight to end heart disease. This is a fantastic cause and very personal to many of us who work at Jasmine. We’re very proud to be an Aberdeen-based company which allows us to be on-hand to deliver a professional and efficient service to our clients in the north-east and further afield.”

Duncan Moir, managing director of McLeod+Aiken, said:

When the team at Jasmine outlined their link with the BHF Scotland we immediately saw the benefit of how every print would contribute to the cause and were very keen to support them. The relationship with Jasmine works very well for us and to be able to call upon an Aberdeen-based support team was appealing to us should we require engineering support.Including our Glasgow and Leeds offices in the service also gives us a single point of contact for all of our document solutions requirements which also saves us time and makes our business perform more efficiently."

Kathy McIlwaine, Fundraising Manager for BHF Scotland, said:

“We’re delighted that McLeod+Aitken have signed up with Jasmine for what is a really imaginative way to raise funds for the charity. We all use print in our day-to-day working lives and it’s great to think that each time we print we’re helping to raise funds for life saving research into heart and circulatory diseases.”
